Our school was established in 1962 after the floods in Pune, basically to cater to the children of middle income group and even today we are proud to maintain the same. But, the standard of education given, the culture and care has grown up with time. We have children caring, highly committed and talented teaching and support staff. We ensure the learning environment to be the best in this vicinity with the best available facilities and opportunities.
We do not believe in just teaching; we believe in letting the student learn at his/her own speed and pace.Our students are encouraged to make educated decisions with a cultured and positive mindset that will influence their future. We believe in presenting responsible, confident, cultured and brilliant students to the society. Students here are encouraged to set goals in their learning and personal lives . With best teaching aids, interesting and challenging experiences which incorporate latest technologies we prepare them for the real world. Apart from this to ensure competitive and harmonious relationships and keep them healthy, we prepare and present them extracurricular activities.

HISTORY OF JES
Established in 1962 after the Poona flood, Jawaharlal English School (J.E.S) founded by an enterprising teacher, who catered education to the lower middle class students living in the rehabilitation hutments in and around Gultekdi, was taken over by KERALA PEOPLE'S EDUCATION SOCIETY (K.P.E.S), in 1975. K.P.E.S was formed by a group of like-minded Malayalees of Pune, who wanted to contribute something concrete towards building the next generation. Led by Late (Shri.) P.U. Srinivasan, they toiled keenly with gusto to develop the school into a full-fledged institution.
Affiliated to the Maharashtra Board of Seconday Education, the school is one of the ancient landmarks of old Pune. This school brings home all the aspects of English medium education to the middle class who cannot afford the extravaganza of the affluent convent schools of Pune.
Jawaharlal English School is an unaided Linguistic Minority Institution.
